NASA TRAVEL AWARD

The National Association of Student Anthropologists Travel Award
provides partial financial support ($100.00) to NASA members who
wish to attend the 2006 AAA Conference in San Jose, California
(excluding current or incoming officers and prior recipients) who
successfully compete in an essay contest.

Essay:
The two-part essay should include: 1) the future direction of
anthropology as a discipline and 2) what NASA's role should be as we
continue to support students of this discipline. Please address both
parts in your essay.

Requirements:

  • The essay must be one-page, 12-point font, double-spaced. Any
essays that are more than one page will not be considered.
  • Please include your name, school, email address and student status
(undergraduate or graduate) at the top of your submission.
  • Please email essays to Jason Miller, the NASA Travel Award
    Committee Chair, at jemille3@mail.usf.edu or
    travelaward@yahoogroups.com. Submissions are only accepted
electronically. Please submit your essay in either a MS Word or pdf
    format.
  • It will also be necessary to supply a copy of your student ID,
Social Security Number and provide proof of a round-trip travel
itinerary to the AAA meeting at the NASA business meeting in order
    to receive awards.
  • All applicants must be current members of the National Association
of Student Anthropologists. Not a NASA member? It is easy to join
and it just cost $1 to join if you are a member of any other AAA
section. Visit http://www.aaanet.org/nasa/ for information on how to
    join the AAA and NASA.
  • The deadline for receipt of all applications is October 15, 2006.
  • The NASA Travel Awards Committee will give two awards,
one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate student.

Please contact Jason Miller, the NASA Travel Award Committee Chair,
at jemille3@mail.usf.edu or travelaward@yahoogroups.com with any
questions.
