Student Poster/Paper Award
The Biological Anthropology Section of the American Anthropological Association is pleased to announce its annual Student Poster/Paper Award
Where: The annual meetings of the American Anthropological Association.
Award: $250 award, to be announced at the BAS Business meetings during the AAA, plus publication in the BAS column of the AAA Newsletter, together with the winning abstract as space permits.
Eligibility: The competition is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. The abstract and poster/paper must represent the original work of the student. If the student is not the sole author, a letter from the student's advisor, stating that the work presented is primarily that of the student, is required to accompany the abstract.
Criteria: Posters and papers will be evaluated by members of the BAS Executive Committee using the following criteria: excellence in presentation, originality of topic, and intellectual creativity.
HOW TO APPLY: Abstracts for the poster/paper should be submitted using the official abstract forms and following instructions provided in the January AAA Newsletter. Poster submissions will be presented in the BAS Poster Session, and should be sent to the Student Prize Committee Chair, who will collate and forward the session materials to the AAA. Students giving podium presentation in other organized sessions are also eligible for the prize. If you are presenting a podium presentation and would like to have it considered for BAS prize, please send your name, paper title, and session title to the Student Prize Committee Chair by the deadline.
