Zora Neale Hurston Meeting Travel Grant
The Association for Feminist Anthropology is committed to increasing the AAA Annual Meeting participation of students and recent Ph.D.s from all underrepresented U.S. groups within the discipline of Anthropology (including, but not limited to, American Indians, Indigenous Hawaiians, Blacks/African-Americans, Chicana/os/Mexican Americans, Asian-Americans). Furthermore we are concerned with mentoring graduate students and junior scholars engaged in feminist research and teaching.
In an effort to achieve these goals, the AFA will fund up to four travel grants of up to $600 each to attend the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association. Preference will be given to applicants who are U.S. people of color and/or physcially challenged who are engaged in one of the following conference activities: presenting a paper on feminist anthropology, co-organizing a session, or actively seeking employment. These grants may be used to reimburse tickets already purchased.
