2009 report by Roberto Drago and Kelly Davis, Parental Leave and Modified Duties Policies across the Big Ten. The Penn State Commission for Women is currently addressing policies and practices around the arrival of new children for faculty, staff, post-doctorates, graduate and undergraduate students. As part of these efforts, they generated the following description of relevant policies across most of the institutions comprising the Big Ten.
A 1999 collaborative study of undergraduate faculty: Who is Teaching in U.S. College Classrooms. Done by the Coalition on the Academic Work Force (CAW), a consortium of 25 disciplinary societies concerned about the use and treatment of part-time and adjunct faculty.
2004 Report: Race, Gender and Mentoring in Anthropology Departments (PDF). Research indicates that mentoring is very important for graduate students success and that there is high correlation between overall satisfaction with graduate school and quality of mentoring.
