Giving Opportunities

Among the many worthwhile activities, awards and programs that the AAA supports through its fundraising efforts are the following important funds. Your gift may be designated to a specific fund or divided between more than one.

Anthropos Fund: A gift to our unrestricted annual fund allows the AAA to determine where your contribution can make the most immediate impact in support of AAA projects such as AnthroSource and Understanding Race and Human Variation. Anthropos funding makes possible such mundane but important undertakings as membership & department surveys, support for special commissions established by the Executive Board, additional programs at the Annual Meeting, job placement workshops, etc.

Minority Fellowship Fund: In hopes of encouraging more people of diverse backgrounds to either enter the discipline of anthropology, or to aid them in their pursuit of advanced anthropological degrees, the AAA seeks to fund our current Minority Fellowship Fund program. With your support, we can continue to offer financial assistance to minority scholars to complete their dissertations. Additional funds will provide financial assistance to minority individuals studying at the associate, baccalaureate and masters degree levels.

AAA Endowment Fund: Our general endowment fund is the keystone to our future, as we continue to build and broaden our programs and services. It is an investment in our future, to ensue that the AAA will be around to advance the discipline of anthropology during its second hundred years. The principal of this fund is never touched; the annual interest is used for priority needs as determined by the AAA Executive Board.
